Four servings
Ingredients:
Four cuallions of coarsely chopped onion
Two huge eggs
Half a cup of finely shredded green cabbage
Half of the multipurpose flour
Half a cup of cheddar cheese, shredded
Two finely chopped green onions
Two tablespoons of freshly chopped parsley
One teaspoon of powdered garlic
One-half teaspoon of paprika
Half a teaspoon of salt
One-half teaspoon of black pepper
Two to three tablespoons of cooking oil for frying
Instructions:
Get the cabbage ready: Shred the cabbage finely and put it in a big bowl. To soften it, add a tiny teaspoon of salt and give it a gentle massage for one to two minutes.
Eliminate extra moisture: Gently squeeze the cabbage with your hands or a fresh kitchen towel to eliminate as much moisture as you can.
Add the following ingredients: chopped onion, eggs, flour, green onions, shredded cheddar, parsley, paprika, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper.
Mix: Stir everything until a thick slurry is formed and everything is well blended. Add one more tablespoon of flour if the mixture seems too moist.
Heat the skillet: In a big skillet, heat the oil over medium heat.
Create the fritters: For each fritter, scoop around two spoonful of the mixture into the heated skillet. Use the back of a spoon to gently flatten.
Fry: Cook until crispy and golden brown, 3 to 4 minutes per side.
Carefully flip each fritter with a broad spatula to ensure they stay together and cook evenly.
Drain: To absorb extra oil, move the cooked fritters to a platter covered with paper towels.
Serve hot with your preferred dipping sauce, ranch dressing, garlic sauce, or sour cream.
Tips:
The secret to crispy fritters is to remove extra moisture from the cabbage.
Cook in batches as necessary to avoid packing the skillet too full.
The greatest cheesy flavour comes from freshly shredded cheddar.
To prevent the outside from browning before the interior cooks, keep the heat on medium.
If you want a little fire, add a sprinkle of red pepper flakes.
These cabbage fritters are a tasty way to transform basic ingredients into a fantastic supper. They are crispy, cheesy, flavourful, and simple to prepare!
