Ingredients

  • 1 medium green cabbage finely shredded
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 small onion thinly sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil or vegetable oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt or to taste
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning optional
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley chopped
  • 1 tablespoon butter optional
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes optional for a little heat

Method

  1. . Prepare the Vegetables
  2. Take out the cabbage leaves that are damaged and thoroughly rinse the cabbage.
  3. Cut the cabbage into four parts, take out the tough core, and finely shred the leaves.
  4. Cut the onion into thin slices and finely chop the garlic.
  5. Cook the onion and the garlic.
  6. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  7. Add the sliced onion and cook it for about 2 to 3 minutes, stirring from time to time, until it starts to soften.
  8. Cook the finely chopped garlic for an additional 30 to 60 seconds until it is fragrant.
  9. Take care that you don't burn the garlic.
  10. Add the Cabbage
  11. Shred cabbage and then add it to the skillet.
  12. Add salt, black pepper, paprika, and Italian seasoning.
  13. In the case of using red pepper flakes, add them at this point.
  14. Mix all of it using a wooden spoon or spatula.
  15. Cook Until Tender
  16. Cook the cabbage for about 7 to 10 minutes, stirring every few minutes.
  17. The cabbage should tenderize as it develops a few lightly golden, caramelized edges.
  18. If the cabbage appears to be sticking to the pan then add a little water and continue cooking.
  19. To get softer cabbage, cover the skillet for 2 to 3 minutes while you're cooking it.
  20. Add the Eggs
  21. Create four small spaces in the cabbage mixture.
