Total Time: 30–35 minutes
Servings: 4–6 slices
Oven: 400°F (200°C)
Ingredients
For the crust:
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tbsp baking powder
- ½ tsp sea salt
- ⅓ cup olive oil
- ¾ cup unsweetened almond milk
- ½ tsp ground turmeric
For the toppings:
- 1 cup pizza sauce
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- ½ cup red bell pepper, chopped
- ½ cup mushrooms, chopped
- ¼ cup red onion, chopped
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- ½ tsp garlic powder
- ¼ tsp black pepper
- 1 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
- 1 tsp olive oil
Instructions
- Preheat the oven:
Heat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet or pizza pan with parchment paper. - Make the dough:
In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, sea salt, and turmeric. Add the almond milk and ⅓ cup olive oil. Mix until a soft dough forms. - Knead:
Transfer the dough to a lightly floured surface and gently knead for about 2 minutes. Avoid over-kneading. - Prepare the vegetables:
Heat 1 tsp olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the red onion, mushrooms, and red bell pepper. Sauté for about 5 minutes, until the vegetables soften slightly. Stir in the garlic powder, oregano, and black pepper. - Shape the crust:
Place the dough on the prepared baking sheet and gently press or roll it into a round or rectangular pizza crust, about ¼-inch thick. - Add the sauce:
Spread the pizza sauce evenly over the dough, leaving a small border around the edges. - Add toppings:
Sprinkle the mozzarella over the sauce. Arrange the sautéed mushrooms, bell pepper, and onion evenly across the pizza. - Bake:
Place the pizza in the preheated oven and bake for 15–18 minutes, or until the crust is golden and the cheese is melted and lightly bubbly. - Garnish:
Remove from the oven and sprinkle with fresh parsley. Let it cool for 2–3 minutes before slicing.
Serving Tip
Serve warm with a fresh green salad or roasted vegetables for a delicious, veggie-packed meal.
Note: Turmeric adds a warm, earthy flavor and color, but this pizza should be viewed as a nutritious recipe rather than a treatment for inflammation or any medical condition.
